Data and Consumer Report Retention Policy- Change in Policy
Dear Valued Client:
You are most likely aware virtually all companies are periodically evaluating and changing their data retention policies.
Traditionally, S2Verify had a data retention policy that was basically limitless, meaning, we would store the consumer report data we provided to you indefinitely.
After an internal review and use of specialized legal counsel, we have decided to revise our Consumer Report and data retention policy.
Effective September 15, 2018, S2Verify will change its data retention policy and only retain the consumer reports we deliver to you for a period of 2 years, from date the report was completed. As of this date, we will purge consumer reports older than two years on a quarterly basis. When determining how long to retain the Consumer Reports we deliver to our Client’s, we examined our Clients’ accessing practices for the reports in our system. We found that our Client’s access to report data after a period of 24 months was almost non-existent.
In the event you decide you want to retain the Consumer Reports that are older than 24 months, we will work with you to establish a secure repository via a secure access portal. We will send you those reports for your possession. If you do not desire to retain your consumer reports which are over 24 months old, no action is required on your part.
